My lunch on the beach!!! Talk about fresh! The fishermen would catch the fish in the morning, then you pick out what type of fish you want and they weigh it, then you can have the fish cooked ANYWAY you want it! It was like Burger King on the Beach! This feast cost about 500 JD which is about $5 US; This is Escoviech Fish (Fried with hot peppers, onions, carrots and vinegar), pear (Avocado), plantains and festival!
This is Hellshire Beach in Portmore, Jamaica. They call it the People's beach because it is a public beach and was always crowded with locals, but very lively day and night...

The Jamaican fruit guinep, It comes in a bunch like over-sized grapes with a firm shell and a soggy, grainy middle. You have to break the shell, put the guinep in your mouth and suck the fruit off of the seed. Sounds complicated but it really was quite easy and refreshing on a hot day.

The fishermen were trying to sell us these fresh lobsters; we always said we would buy one to celebrate our last day at the beach but we never got around to it, love the picture though...

A really good picture of Hellshire beach. These tenements were all across the shore and were either used as shade from the sun or little shops that sold souveneirs and other trinkets...
